Relative Clauses Exercise 1

Here's an exercise about relative clauses. In this case, the relative pronoun is the subject of the relative clause (this means you can't drop 'who', 'which' or 'that')

Add the phrase in brackets to the sentence using 'that' or 'who' and a relative clause:

1) She worked for a man (the man used to be an athlete) Show Anser
She worked for a man who used to be an athlete
Hide Show Anser
2) They called a lawyer (the lawyer lived nearby) Show Anser
They called a lawyer who lived nearby
Hide Show Anser
3) I sent an email to my brother (my brother lives in Australia) Show Anser
I sent an email to my brother who lives in Australia
Hide Show Anser
4) The customer liked the waitress (the waitress was very friendly) Show Anser
The customer liked the waitress who was very friendly
Hide Show Anser
5) We broke the computer (the computer belonged to my father) Show Anser
We broke the computer that belonged to my father
Hide Show Anser
